Stupid Radar Always Gettin’ Me Down
It’s been like a month since I mentioned the weather. I think that could be a record for me. It seems like the forecast is usually the main down fall of my job. Oh! and not finding the time to go to the bathroom at weddings is the other major down fall. I’m talking floating eyeballs. Otherwise my job ROCKS!!! Anyway, I was heading out to Carly and Chad’s engagement session at Ellington Ag Center. I noticed my wind chimes were being suspiciously loud. Drat….. weather is coming. I had purposely not looked at Weather Underground thinking, just like most girls, if I ignore it it WILL go away. Nope, not going away this time. I called Carley and she thought it will be more of an adventure if we hurried and beat the storm. I was down with that. I got to Ellington and the pictures were done in just a few minutes flat. I’ve gotta say I’m a little proud. Part of what I do is make the best of what I’m given. This is a great example of shooting quickly and dealing with the elements. There were a ton of great ones BTW

Thanks Carley and Chad for all the laughing (which we did the WHOLE time). I had a blast!!!

Liz and Jake’s Engagement Session

Liz and Jake
Liz and Jake were amazing to work with. I can’t believe my luck this year with all my clients. Incredible!!! They were married at Belle Meade Plantation and of course everything was perfect.
Below you will see more feed back. I could write something fun and clever about the day, but I feel like every once in awhile this is really the stuff you guys wanna see. I have to give a huge chunk of credit to Helen Morisette. She’s an AMAZING wedding planner here in Nashville. With her help I was able to focus on what needed to be done for the photography with out other distractions. Here is what Liz said.
Hey Angie!
Just wanted to take a minute to say a quick, but much deserved thank you for all your hard work last weekend. I know that it’s not easy to coordinate a large family and wedding party while still being patient and friendly 100% of the time. Everyone was so impressed at how efficient you were with all the group photos, yet we never felt like we were being rushed either. The entire afternoon was enjoyable and of course everyone was thrilled to be able to head to reception that much sooner. So in summary, thanks again for being awesome and a pleasure to work with. There was never a moment that we didn’t feel comfortable having you right there with us (and the second half the night we never knew you were there).

Why are you being so good?!?!?
I’ve been working with Cheri’s kids for years now. I’ve always known they were going to run and play instead of sitting still. If I can’t keep up with them then I don’t get to photograph them. It is what it is. Oh and I love it! So I show up excited to run and instead I get a very quite “Hello Mrs. Angie”. So we start pictures and they’re sitting very still and not making a peep. I felt like something was up. Cheri had walk away for a moment so I asked the kids if mommy had told them to be good OR ELSE! Well, I think they were promised some good treats and if they didn’t listen, obey and behave they could kiss it all good bye. My pictures were suffering from the lack of crazy behavior and to much politeness. I promise you what she accomplished in these kids for that hour was going to be grounds for an award and I had to totally undo it all.

The Ross Family!!!
There are so many great things about my job. I think I’ve said something in the past about working with couples on their wedding day, then how cool it is to continue on photographing their family as it grows. Lauren has had me capture her wedding and now both of her little boys. I am now bugging her to have another……maybe a girl this time…..because it’s all about me you know
) Most of the time when we have our photography sessions it’s during the day while Jackson (the big man of the house) is at work. She FINALLY decided it was time to get a family portrait. It really is a treat to get them all together.

A shot of his face when she’s coming down the aisle
That was the most important shot of the day as far as Allison was concerned. I like the shot and when it’s possible I do try to get it. However, most guys don’t want to let their guard down in front of 200 people. Who can blame them. She came through the doors and this is what I saw.
Soooo Sweet!!!! But is this common? NO!!! I love it. Heck, he made me cry too.
Allison and Bret were married at the Cathedral and the reception was at Union Station.

Lauren and Davis
Lauren and Davis!!! So very sweet and so very fun!! They were married on January 16th at Woodmont Baptist and the reception was at the Belle Meade Plantation. It rained that night, but it didn’t matter. Lauren decided that if the weather was rainy she would always love rainy weather. My kind of girl!! Davis made me smile when he came up to me at the reception and thanked me for coming out in spite of the weather. Hell or high water I was going to be there regardless. I just thought it was so amazing that Davis noticed and appreciated that it wasn’t easy to work under those conditions. Thank you Davis. My job is hard but rewarding. In the end it ends up being a labor of love. When people recognize that it warms my spirit.
