I love the different ways, and the lengths that will be taken by a mommy and a daddy to make Jr. smile. I’ve seen so many faces and heard so many voices. Some of which I’m positive are used during important corporate meetings. Anyway, Kellan’s mom opened what should have been an obvious avenue, she pulled out the bubble gum. No, not for the kid!!!! She chewed and started blowing crazy huge bubbles. 13 years of photographing kids, why haven’t I thought of that!?!?!? Look at that face. I’m pretty sure I still make this very expression when someone blows a bubble in my presence. Hilarious!!!

Kellan’s doing a little thinking. You know “Kellan time”.

There are so many great things about my job. I think I’ve said something in the past about working with couples on their wedding day, then how cool it is to continue on photographing their family as it grows. Lauren has had me capture her wedding and now both of her little boys. I am now bugging her to have another……maybe a girl this time…..because it’s all about me you know
) Most of the time when we have our photography sessions it’s during the day while Jackson (the big man of the house) is at work. She FINALLY decided it was time to get a family portrait. It really is a treat to get them all together.

I’ve been photographing Carson since he was 3 months old. His mom has a wall set up with images of him in every stage of his life. Each year she has me capture what is going in his world. One year we went to the lake and he fished. Another year we golfed. This year he road a bike (which I think is huge because I LOVE bicycles!!!) and he taught me all about T-Ball. Sooo cute. I kinda get all mushy with this one. He’s just soooo handsome!!!!

I love these kids. They totally crack me up. If you look down a little bit in the blog you’ll find where I photographed them in the summer. What I learned the first time I worked with them was that you better roll with the punches. We pulled out the treats within the first 5 minutes of me introducing the camera. Big brother Cameron screamed bloody murder towards the end of the session. His mom asked what it was all about it? She said “Is this about the candy?” He yelled “YYYEEESSSS!!!!!”. I couldn’t help but laugh, which helped nothing.
This time there were no treats until after the session. Candy was much deserved this time. However, you can tell from the family picture not everything went totally letter to the law.

There was an episode of the Brady Bunch that has stuck with me ever since I was little. Jan found a picture of an aunt that looked identical to her. She made it her pilgrimage to find this aunt. She wanted to see what she would look like in 30 years. Well, the aunt turned out to be an unattractive woman, BUT she was super cool. A lesson was learned about inner beauty during this show. Whatever!
Why am I telling you this? I took pictures of my 3 year old niece this week. If you put a picture of me when I was 3 next my nieces face you will see that we look JUST ALIKE!!! When I was photographing her I had to stop on a regular basis due to the fact that I felt like my identity was stolen. Am I the aunt off of the Brady Bunch?!?!? I don’t think I look hideous?!?!?!? However, I am the cool aunt!!!! Oh I don’t know. What I do know is that I love the child, and all my nieces and nephews. I really enjoy preserving their different stages in life so we can remember just how cute they are when their mouths aren’t so cute at age 14. Isn’t she cute? Or am I totally biased?

I photographed Shannon and Shepley’s wedding something like 6 years ago. I love it that we have stayed in touch. What an honor to photograph their growing family!!!! The session was for baby Cutler, but who can resist photographing Corinne, his big sis? I couldn’t!!!
